Quiet. Penetrating quiet. The kind that gives you pause, reviving a belief there is another existence outside the hurly-burly hustle of 21st century life.
With that quiet is the invitation to S-L-O-W D-O-W-N. Want to spend the day curled up with a good book by the fire? Sure. Take a meditative stroll and explore our 130 acres of varied habitats? Sounds good. Maybe just take (another) nap - remember those? Please do!
Crystalwood Lodge specializes in quiet year-round, but ESPECIALLY in the fall-winter-spring off-season. Easy travel and easy access! Come enjoy and check out our winter stillness and incredibly deep quiet...the perfect stress-free getaway!

Crystalwood Lodge is your perfect home base for any adventure near Crater Lake that you can dream up!

Crystalwood Lodge’s focus is on hosting groups, events, workshops, seminars, family reunions, weddings – any group needing a private space in a unique setting.
We've been again honored to host weddings, a multitude of family reunions, milestone birthday celebrations, bicyclists exploring Crater Lake, the OC&E trail and Sun Mountain, quilting retreats, dog partnership building retreats, martial arts students, scrapbooking weekends, church get-togethers, memorial get-togethers, hiking groups, life list birders....just to name a few!
Well-behaved pets are welcome throughout Crystalwood Lodge and grounds (except for the kitchen and dining room, per health dept. regulations).
We live in the 'tropics of winter sports' so temperate and balmy winters, and warm but not scorching summers. Winter highs are in the 30s, summer highs in the 80s. We feature cool nights and mornings year-round, so great for sleeping and enjoying unlimited fresh air.
Crystalwood Lodge has eight guest rooms, spread amongst the 2nd and 3rd floors (the ground floor is all the guest common areas - commercial kitchen, dining room, Great Room, screened porch, wrap-around deck). Two cozy and private guest rooms are on the 3rd floor, Nome (east side, with double bed) and Rainy Pass (west side, with king bed ~OR~ 2 twin beds, your choice of bed configuration).
The remaining six guest rooms are on the 2nd floor, and provide a wide variety of bed options. McGrath (NE corner - queen bed AND 2 twin beds), Iditarod (north side, twin bed), Ruby (NW corner, queen bed), Skwentna (SW corner, queen bed AND twin bed), Rohn (south side, 1 set of bunk beds) and Kaltag (SE corner, with king bed ~OR~ 2 twin beds, your choice of bed configuration).
Except for Rohn, each guest room has a private bathroom, and all are in-room except for Iditarod which is on the 2nd floor hallway. All rooms include fans, individually adjustable electric baseboard heaters, windows with views, and individual hallway entrances.
Fully Outfitted Commercial Kitchen: Crystalwood Lodge makes our fully outfitted commercial kitchen available to guests, and that has been a huge hit with every group stay. This allows you to come and go freely as you can eat whenever you prefer using the kitchen to prepare your own meals.
The commercial kitchen includes a 6-burner propane stove, 2 large ovens, an outdoor propane grill, 3 microwaves, a guest freezer (with chilled beer mugs), a HUGE walk-in cooler for refrigerated food storage, a commercial coffee/tea station, and a dry food storage area. The well-stocked dish pantry includes serviceware for approx. 30, linens and placemats for the dining room, cutting boards, crock pot, toaster, mixer, and a wide variety of stock pots, baking dishes, skillets, mixing bowls. A number of dry spices are available for guest use.
Food storage areas, dish pantry, food prep tools – everything is here to satisfy your inner gourmet cook – all you bring is the food! There are several local food options if you don’t feel like cooking.
Additional Lodge Amenities: Direct water access for canoeing, kayaking, fishing and wildlife viewing is available just outside the front door of the Lodge. We have 2 rowboats and 2 canoes available for guest rental, which include oars, paddles and life jackets.
We also have 4 open air horse pens for those who would like to bring their horses and enjoy the many miles of trail riding in our immediate area.
Dog crates are available for guest rooms, and a chest full of dog sheets is available to cover the bed comforters or furniture for those guests who like to have their dogs close (i.e. can't keep them off the bed, like some of mine)!
Doggie doo bags are available and trash cans are strategically placed in the parking area and next to the lawn/garden areas for easy pick-up and clean up of your pets.
We have 3 ponds on the property for canine swimming, and approx. 3-4 miles of trails on the property for dog walking, birding, wildflower and wildlife viewing and just getting away from it all.
Even More Lodge Amenities & Info: Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the Lodge guest rooms and guest common areas, including the wrap-around deck and porches.
Inside recreation options include board games, jigsaw puzzles, cards, books, magazines, video library, spotting scope and binoculars.
We have a cozy glass-fronted wood stove in the ground floor Great Room, ready for guest use while you area enjoying the large common area.
A dryer is available for guest use, and I am happy to do laundry on behalf of my guests for a nominal charge.
Guest rooms all include fans and baseboard heaters, and each has a unique view of mountains, meadow, wildlife refuge or Crystal Spring. We have 3 water heaters supplying the kitchen and guest rooms, so plenty of hot water.
BTW, I do NOT live in Crystalwood Lodge, although I am on the property in case you have any questions or anything goes awry and needs attention. I have a separate house behind the Lodge, and my enclosed sled dog yard is approx. 1/4 mile north of the Lodge, on the opposite side of the knoll between the two. The Lodge is 100% yours when you rent the entire facility.
I am onsite to provide orientation tours and facilitate the check-in process when you arrive. Past that, I can assist with dealing with recycles and so forth -- or not -- as you prefer. If there are any problems or you need assistance with anything, of course I am available to assist however I can.
The lodge is on the original shallow water homestead well, and has the best water you will EVER taste. Enjoy!
I hope this helps to clarify a brief overview of all that Crystalwood Lodge has to offer, but please let me know if you have any further questions.
