House (2800 sq. ft.) in Fort Klamath, OR
10.9 miles from Crater Lake
Summary: Located on 280 private acres just a few minutes from the entrance to Crater Lake & about 35 minutes from the rim, this well-appointed 5000 sq. ft. bunkhouse has everything you need to host your next retreat, workshop, or large family reunion. Annie Creek, a substantial natural waterway that runs through the property year round, offers ample wildlife viewing opportunities & trout fishing. There's open cattle grazing on site, making close encounters with roaming livestock a distinct possibility! The Space: 6 semi-private rooms of various bed configurations and 1 private room with 4 beds accommodate a total of 20 people with access to 4 shared bathrooms (two full, two half). The kitchen is well stocked and ready to feed large groups with ease. The spacious layout, restored 1940s range, and custom built BBQ make cooking for a crowd a breeze. The large, open floor plan allows for lots of room to meet, plan, create, and gather in large and small group configurations. The Neighborhood: Medford is 75 miles away and the closest town is the small town of Fort Klamath, with limited services available. Be sure to stock up on groceries ahead of time and plan fuel stops on your way in accordingly. The peace and quiet of this remote sanctuary are relaxing as long as you are prepared! There is no internet or cable TV at this location and cellular service is spotty at best. If you’re looking for a reason to be unplugged and just enjoy being together, Sun Mountain Ranch Bunkhouse is a perfect choice! Note: Firewood is provided for all guests, year around. This is the only source of heat. Other Things to Note: Some very important things to know about our property: - Elevation is over 4000'... be prepared for snow from November - April - There is no Internet - There is limited cell phone service but we do have a 'landline' in the house - The only source of heat is a very large fireplace. We stock plenty of firewood. - All of the bedrooms are semi-private (three walls), divided by Native American blankets in dormers throughout the house - Access to the upper floor bedrooms are from an outside staircase... snow shovel provided :-) - The closest grocery stores are approximately an hour away... make sure to stock up before arriving. - The kitchen is generously stocked with cookware and dishware. If you have it at home... most likely we have it here - The cleaning fee assumes a $50 pet fee Interaction with Guests: You'll have all the privacy you need on site. If you need us, we are always available to assist our guests in making plans for theater, restaurants, shopping, wine tasting, hiking, water sports, and so much more!

Come stay in the quaint town of Prospect! Located just 33 miles from Crater lake, and minutes away from endless adventures. Mill Creek Cabin is a lovely mountain cabin, situated on Mill Creek. We invite you to come and enjoy this lovely 4 bedroom 2 bath home with all the amenities you need. We can sleep up to 8 people comfortably, in our 3 bedrooms plus a lovely balcony loft, and even invite your well behaved furry friends to join as well. However the yard is not fence in, so be aware that you will need to supervise your pet and keep them on a leash. Prospect and surrounding areas have much to offer, from rafting, boating, fishing, hiking, relaxing, exploring, theres much to see and do here! If you are the outdoorsy type, you will have endless options. For those that are interested in off road adventuring on your quad, or dirtbike, Prospect also offers many great OHV trails to explore. We are also located nearly next door to the Historic Prospect Hotel and Restaurant, which offers a prime rib dinner, and more. Please check their website for more info. After exploring and adventuring, our home is a fantastic place to unwind. Sit creekside, grill, unwind. While we are family friendly, we do want to make sure that those staying are aware that the creek is swift and cold, and must exercise caution with small children. We are located around an hour drive from the airport, it is a nice drive and goes by quick. Prospect is quite rural and there are no grocery stores within a close distance as well; there is a convenience store located just down the road however. The nearest grocery store is in Shady Cove which is around a half hour drive. We recommend grocery shopping in Medford or Eagle Point prior to arrival, or we can make other arrangements and offer to help with stocking fridge and pantry, please feel free to ask us for details.

Our stunning Sacred Ways Native American Tipi is available for camping. We developed 6 sites, a tipi village. Each tipi is clearly marked with name and number, the Lakota Sioux genuine Native Tipi, with a fire pit inside and 4 mattresses, sleeping bags and pillows. There is a rug outside and inside to PLEASE remove your shoes before you go inside. You may park right up beside the tipi. It's a once in a lifetime experience! Experience staying in a tipi, reserve a guided horse ride with us(separate reservation and cost), and see what the West is REALLY like from the Native perspective. (We are both Native). Most campgrounds have campers right on top of each other. Ours gives you room to hike, see the wildlife, trees and room for privacy just down from Crater Lake. In this 450 acre horse ranch, 5 acres is for campsites and tipis. We have wildflowers, you have space to 'be' here, and that's how we plan on keeping it. We just have a dirt road, and no electricity, all is solar in our desire to keep compatible with the national forest that we are beside. The norm here is to hear the buzz and whir of hummingbirds, dragon flies and birds of all kinds. You can see the stars at night, and hear cows & sheep off in the distance, and since we are beside Crater Lake Highway, we are an easy distance to Crater Lake, so you will hear some traffic now and then. But the road is somewhat hidden by many very tall pine and cedar and juniper trees. You are across the street from Pelican Butte, a beautiful mountain range, and also see Agency Lake off in the distance. We now have a free propane hot shower for our campers. Check out a towel with us at the office and shower for free with your campgrounds fee, and porta potties and wash stations are also available.

Crystalwood Lodge has eight guest rooms, spread amongst the 2nd and 3rd floors (the ground floor is all the guest common areas - commercial kitchen, dining room, Great Room, screened porch, wrap-around deck). Two cozy and private guest rooms are on the 3rd floor, Nome (east side, with double bed) and Rainy Pass (west side, with king bed ~OR~ 2 twin beds, your choice of bed configuration). Doggie doo bags are available and trash cans are strategically placed in the parking area and next to the lawn/garden areas for easy pick-up and clean up of your pets. We have 3 ponds on the property for canine swimming, and approx. 3-4 miles of trails on the property for dog walking, birding, wildflower and wildlife viewing and just getting away from it all. Guest rooms all include fans and baseboard heaters, and each has a unique view of mountains, meadow, wildlife refuge or Crystal Spring. We have 3 water heaters supplying the kitchen and guest rooms, so plenty of hot water. BTW, I do NOT live in Crystalwood Lodge, although I am on the property in case you have any questions or anything goes awry and needs attention. I have a separate house behind the Lodge, and my enclosed sled dog yard is approx. 1/4 mile north of the Lodge, on the opposite side of the knoll between the two. The Lodge is 100% yours when you rent the entire facility. I am onsite to provide orientation tours and facilitate the check-in process when you arrive. Past that, I can assist with dealing with recycles and so forth -- or not -- as you prefer. If there are any problems or you need assistance with anything, of course I am available to assist however I can. The lodge is on the original shallow water homestead well, and has the best water you will EVER taste. Enjoy! I hope this helps to clarify a brief overview of all that Crystalwood Lodge has to offer, but please let me know if you have any further questions.

House (2500 sq. ft.) in Prospect, OR
23.1 miles from Crater Lake
The Meadow House is named for the expansive meadow it is sited on, and for it’s amazing views and surrounding abundance of natural beauty and wildlife. Located on the historic 100-acre Katydid Ranch in the rural Cascade mountains, (1 mile from the Rogue River, 28.9 miles from Crater Lake south entrance), this 2-story house is nestled between old timber forest woodlands and meadow. A Protected Wildlife Habitat Area, it includes two large ponds, miles of walking/hiking trails, the equine barn and bunkhouse. Owners also reside on the ranch. Available during all four seasons, the Meadow House is as spectacular in the snow-covered winter as it is in the warm weather of summer. INTERIOR. The Meadow House (part of the historic Katydid Ranch of the early 1900's), has been rebuilt with custom details throughout and is a lovely way to enjoy extra creature comforts indoors while taking in gorgeous views of meadows and mountains through its many windows. Hardwood floors throughout, custom cabinetry, granite counters, large tiled bathrooms, a wood-burning fireplace (living room) and a large bright kitchen (set up for convenience of meal preparation) provide quality comfort. Take your pick of the upstairs spacious master (king sized bed-new and very comfortable) or the downstairs corner bedroom (queen sized bed-also new and comfy) which is located next to a full bath. Additionally, there is a small private sleeping room located off the upstairs enclosed balcony which we dub the "eagle's nest". It's a small loft room with a double/full bed and works for a single person or two teenagers that share a bed. The Eagle's nest is small and probably not comfortable for an adult couple. The house is in pristine condition, designed for comfort, and offers views all around. The wrap around deck is great for reading, relaxing, or barbecuing. It's also wonderful at day end for enjoying a glass of wine and waiting for the wildlife to visit. OUTSIDE. Just outside the front door, guests will find the entrance to the “pinecone trail” which leads up a small hill to a secluded sanctuary perfect for star-gazing (the night skies are magnificent!) or side-by-side hammock-style relaxation, and a cozy camp-fire pit. It's a very short walk back to the house if you decide to spread out your tablecloth for a romantic picnic on the knoll. At summer end, the ranch berry bushes are available to guests in abundance. Pick enough for your special treat of sweet wild blackberries when in season. WINTER. On a winter day, you might see wild turkeys and deer browsing in the meadow and then catch the elk coming in for moonlight grazing after dusk. The winter months bring clear cold crisp weather and there is nothing more gorgeous than when the fresh blanket of snow covers the meadow. That’s when it’s time to cozy up to the wood-burning fireplace and relax as you watch the gentle white flakes fall. Crater Lake National Park offers free ranger-guided snow-shoe walks on weekends and even loan you the snow-shoes! Snow-mobiling and cross-country skiing are popular too. We love spotting all of the animal tracks in the snow! SPRING. Wildflowers, bulbs, and by the end of May, the Iris are blooming. The meadow grasses are lush with spring showers and warming weather. A gorgeous time of year to visit. SUMMER. During the summer months the meadow is shared with the ranch horses for daytime grazing who return to the barn at day end just in time for other wildlife visitors to arrive. FALL. End of summer visitors are invited to indulge in the abundance of wild-blackberry picking (usually beginning by mid-August and lasting through most of September) If you can actually get the sweet berries in a bucket (supplied) you might decide to make a pie later on, or serve them over ice-cream. Yum! If not, just eat them off the bush and enjoy! Relaxing is an important all-season activity, but not to the exclusion of hiking the numerous trails, bird/wildlife spotting, horse shoes, mountain biking, visiting the ponds, or checking out the old Boise-Cascade tree nursery on the property. Guests are welcome, if they wish, to join us at the barn at feeding time to enjoy that special time of day with the horses and say hello to the owners whose home is also situated on the meadow; close enough to be available for any unexpected needs and far enough for privacy.

Lodge in Klamath Falls, OR
29.9 miles from Crater Lake
History: Point Comfort Lodge was built by a railroad and lumber tycoon from the mid west in 1912. At the turn of the century it was fashionable for wealthy families on the east coast to build large summer homes in the Adirondacks. Most of these vacation homes were log cabin or mission style architecture. When the Klamath Development Company was developing the lumber harvesting business in Klamath Falls they built Point Comfort to be their vacation home at the foot of the Cascade Mountains on the shore of upper Klamath Lake. Originally, four great lodges were built on Klamath Lake; they were Eagle Ridge, Odessa, Harriman Springs (built by E.H. Harriman) and Point Comfort. Point Comfort is the only one remaining today, making her the Grand Dame of the Lake. Point Comfort was designed by a renowned craftsman style architect from Berkley California. The restoration of the Lodge took 7 years to complete from the hardwood floors, wood paneled walls to the windows and doors. 7 years to complete from the hardwood floors, wood paneled walls to the windows and doors containing 805 panes of glass. Her restoration adhering to historical guidelines has earned her a place on the National Registry of Historical Places. Lodge Style: The Lodge is furnished with a blend of contemporary furniture and valuable antiques from the Craftsman period. For your enjoyment we have added two vintage pinball machines, no charge to play. The Lodge’s commercial kitchen is equipped to feed many, with its Wolf range, separate icemaker, dishwasher, two refrigerators, 8 foot stainless steel sink unit and prep island with sink. There are enough dishes for 30 people. Patios, Decks, and Docks: The front entrance has a lovely covered porch that is a restful place to sit. On the lakeside of the Lodge is a deck, which overlooks the lake. Below this deck is a large cement patio, perfect for outdoor entertaining. The dock will accommodate up to eight average sized boats and comes with a ladder if you happen to jump in. The three acres of land surrounding the Lodge are planted in rolling lawns, and natural plant species of the surrounding area.
